Antes de llegar al segundo lugar adonde iban a filman el nuevo video de LDA, hablamos con reggeatonero Baby Ranks. Estaba contentísimo de hacer historia con esta colaboración, “[Es] una mezcla que nunca se vía hecho, Reggeatón con Rock/Ska. Es una oportunidad para nosotros como artistas y para el genero de hacer un cambio por que siempre necesitamos hacer un cambio.” Y nos aseguro que “va ser algo bueno.” La canción se llama “Vivo por Ti.”
Baby Ranks nos explico la premisa del video, “La historia del video es que Baby Psycho y yo estamos discutiendo por la misma muchacha, a el le gusta y a mi me gusta y es básicamente como si tuviéramos peleando por una misma muchacha pero simplemente estamos en el estudio y uno de los productores se duerme en la grabación y entonces empieza la historia como tal.”
Nos contó que su amor al Reggeatón viene de hace tiempo, “Siempre me a gustado la música urbana por que soy Puertorriqueño y mis padres son Dominicano y cuando uno es hispano crece en el medio de toda esas músicas incluyendo el merengue, salsa, rock y de todo. Entonces a mi me gusta mezclar y hacer muchas cosas diferente, mi álbum saldrá el ano que viene si dios lo permite y espero que todos estén muy contento con el [álbum].
Las canciones del nacen de varias maneras, “todo llega” el nos explico. “Abecés me siento a escribir sobre algo y abecés no, abecés son historias de cosas personal o una cosas de un amigo, algo que yo veo o algo que ellos me cuenten y eso me inspira a escribir algo. Cualquier cosa me puede inspirar.” Y esas inspiraciones lo ayudado tener mucho éxito.
Cuando le preguntamos que carrera afuera de la música le gustaría tener confeso que, “Nunca [se] visualizo haciendo otra cosa.” El continuo, “Yo creo que esto es lo mió. [La música] es lo que me hace sentir bien.”
El próximo año será interesante para el cantante su nuevo álbum saldrá a la venta y nos explico que sus metas incluyen trabajando fuerte, “La meta es continuar trabajando fuerte para terminar el nuevo álbum y ganar premios y continuar satisfaciendo el publico.”
Before arriving at the second location where they were to film LDA’s new music video we spoke with reggeatonero Baby Ranks. He was thrilled to be a part of the history making video, “It’s something that’s never been done before, Reggeatón with Rock/Ska. It’s an opportunity for us as artists and for this genre to do something different and we need change in this genre.” He assured us “it’s gonna be good.” The song is “Vivo por Ti” (I live for you).
Baby Ranks explained the video’s premise, “video’s story is that Baby Psycho and I are arguing over the same girl, I like her and he likes her and basically it’s like we’re fighting over her in the studio and one of the producers falls asleep and that’s when the story begins.”
He confessed that his love for Reggeatón comes a long way, “I’ve always liked urban music because I’m Puerto Rican and my parents are Dominican and when you’re Hispanic you grow up around all of that music including merengue, salsa, rock and all of that. And so I like to mix things up and do lots of different things, my album will come out next year, god willing. I hope everyone enjoys the new album.”
His songs are products of numerous forms of inspiration, “everything comes to you” he explained. “Sometimes I’ll sit down to write something down other times they’re personal stories mine or my friends’ things I’ve seen, things I’ve been told. Anything can inspire me.” And those inspirations have brought him plenty of success.
When asked what other career he’d like to have other than music he confessed, “I’ve never imagined myself doing anything else.” He continued, “I think this is my thing. [Music] is what makes me feel good.”
The next year should be very interesting for the singer his new album is set to drop sometime in ’08 and he confessed that his goals include working hard, “my goal is to continue to work hard to complete my new album and win some awards and to continue to satisfy the fans.”
