El Concierto del Amor: Entrevista exclusiva con Don Omar y Gilberto Santa Rosa

Tres grandes se unirán para uno de los eventos más grandes de este año. El concierto del Amor se realizara el 9 de Febrero en la arena de Madison Square Garden con salsero Gilberto Santa Rosa, Reggeatonero Don Omar y Bachatero Frank Reyes. Estuvimos presente en el restaurante Zona Rosa mas de una semana antes del evento con Gilberto Santa Rosa y Don Omar hablando sobre la unión de tres géneros distintos y el espectáculo entre otras cosas.
“Es la primera vez que estaré trabajando junto con Don Omar y Frank Reyes” dijo el salsero puertorriqueño Gilberto Santa Rosa quien admitió estaba ansioso sobre la colaboración. Para Don Omar la noche será doble significante el reggeatonero admitió que esa noche el también estará celebrando sus 30 años y dijo que después de el espectáculo va tener “una fiesta grande” y planea pasar la noche de fiesta.
El concepto del concierto vino después de una presentación en España y tuvieron la idea de traer el espectáculo a la arena más famosa de Nueva York y esta vez incluyeron al Bachatero Dominicano Frank Reyes (el bachatero no pudo esta presente ese día pero prometieron que apatir del 1ero de Febrero “El príncipe de la Bachata” estará en la cuidad) y prometen que será “impresionante.”
Con tantas colaboraciones es fácil asumir que todo los artistas algún día grabaría un tema urbano. Cuando le preguntaron a Gilberto si pensaba interpretar un Reggeatón el salsero respondió que no aspiraba ser reggeatonero pero le daba su respecto al genero y sus interpretantes, “hay que darle estos jóvenes su merito por que están haciendo algo genuino” el dijo. Algo que Don Omar inmediatamente respondió con un aplauso.
Después del espectáculo Don Omar piensa dedicarse ha hacer “mejor padre y hijo” y admitió sus planes de casarse este año. En el medio artístico el aspira trabajar con Wyclef y grabar un tema tropical en adición de la colaboraciones que termino con Sean Paul y Kat DeLuna. Mientras Gilberto seguirá con su gira “Contraste, el Concierto.”
Three of Latin music’s biggest stars will unite for one of the biggest events this year. The concert, titled El Concierto del Amor (the concert of love) will take place on February 9th at Madison Square Garden featuring salsa singer Gilberto Santa Rosa, Reggeatón sensation Don Omar and Bachata artist Frank Reyes. A week prior to the event we caught up with Gilberto Santa Rosa and Don Omar to talk about the union of three distinctive genres and the main event among other things.
“It will be the first time I’ll be working with Don Omar and Frank Reyes” said the Puerto Rican salsa singer Gilberto Santa Rosa who admitted to looking forward to the collaboration. For Don Omar the night would be significant for another reason; he’ll be turning 30 years old and said he plans to throw “a big party” and party the night away.
The concept behind the concert came after a successful presentation in Spain the idea of bringing the show to the most famous arena in New York seemed like the next logical step instead this time they enlisted Dominican bachata singer Frank Reyes (the bachata singer was unable to attend the press conference that day but they promised that the “prince of bachata” would be in the city as of February 1st) and promised that the show will be “extraordinary.”
With so many collaborations these days it’s easy to assume that every artist would at some point record an urban track. To which Don Omar responded with applause.
After the concert Don Omar plans to dedicate himself to being a “better father and son” and talked about his plans to get married some time this year. In the artistic arena he aspires to work with Wyclef and record a tropical track in addition to the tracks he recently completed with Sean Paul and Kat DeLuna. While Gilberto will continue with his “Contraste, el concierto” tour in promotion of his latest album.
