New Music Tuesday (Week of January 26th)
Motion City Soundtrack, “My Dinosaur Life”
Released on January 19th Motion City Soundtrack’s “My Dinosaur Life” has already charmed the hearts of many and etched a spot on the Billboard charts. “My Dinosaur Life” is easily the band’s greatest album to date and that’s saying a lot considering that they’ve consistently put out good records. The opening track “Worker Bee” boasts that ”it’s been a good year, a good new begging. I’m through with the old school so let’s commence the winning” and winners they are with this charming 12-track release and its pop sensibilities. The impressive thing about Motion City Soundtrack is that they’re able to craft catchy and melodic tunes with thought provoking lyrics that hold up years later. Tracks from previous releases like “I Am The Movie” and “Commit This To Memory” and so forth are still relevant five to seven years later. Without a doubt “My Dinosaur Life” will be among those albums you’ll dust off years later and fall in love with it all over again. Stand out tracks include: “A Lifeless Ordinary,” “Delirium,” “Stand Too Close” and “Disappear.”

Wakey!Wakey!, “Almost Everything I Wish I’d Said The Last Time I Saw You…” (March 16th 2010)
“Almost Everything I Wish I’d Said The Last Time I Saw You…” is a well crafted indie rock album that knows how to cater to the pop crowd. Wakey! Wakey! has a sure fire hit with tracks like “22,” and “Got It All Wrong.” Expect to hear great things from this noteworthy band.

APSE, “Climb Up”
There’s a dreamlike quality to Apse’s “Climb Up” the opening track “Blown Doors” like most of the tracks off the album offers immersing grooves and haunting vocals. It’s definitely a mood setter one that’s hard to describe but there’s no denying that when listening to tracks like “Lie,” and “The Return” you’ll feel an array of emotions all evolving into good.
