Emii Spreads Her Magic

With her break through single “Magic” steadily climbing the music charts (recently cracking the top 40 and landing at number 36) Emii is quickly becoming the star she always dreamed of becoming. “I just found out today,” she said regarding the single’s success. “And that’s huge for me. I’m really honored that people are loving it.”

The newfound success means loads of opportunities to perform in different parts of the country this summer. “We are in the process of setting everything up right now,” Emii explained. “We’re kind of spending time on the East coast for the most part but tomorrow I’m going to Philly then [off] to Connecticut. We did some stuff here and then I go back to LA,” she said. One of the things she did while in New York was perform at SteveStock in The Summer.

Prior to taking the stage the singer promised “we’re gonna have fun” regarding that evening’s performance but didn’t reveal much about her set. I would later find out that Emii is the type of performer that can perform in front of any crowd and can easily get them to dance along to her tracks. She performed early on in the evening as many attendees trickled in or placed their drink orders. Seemingly unfazed Emii took command of the stage and asked the audience to move onto the dance and join her, midway through her second number the crowd was bouncing along with her.

Performing at SteveStock was a no-brainer for the singer. “Steven Beer (the founder of SteveStock) helps manage me,” revealed Emii. “He’s also my representation for the most part and he hosts a good party so there’s no way I would miss this!”

The party was a musical celebration of summer and included appearances from Chevonne, My Cousin The Emperor, George Reefah and the magician featured in Emii’s video Magic of Marco among others.  Emii revealed that it was important to feature a real magician in her video. She said, “We made it clear when we were looking [for a magician] that he has to be a real magician, it’s just a part of the whole concept of the video and it does tie in with the lyrics. If you listen to the lyrics and see the final shot of the video it means something. A few people have gotten it but I’m not gonna reveal it. I’m gonna wait for a few people to come to me with it.”
